I really love the cars of the early 1940s. The big round fenders are about the best thing going in my book. The shapes are cool and the fact that cars like this 1941 Buick were among the last to escape factories before they were converted to war production add to my appreciation for them. Normally when we are talking about four door cars, we’re having to make some sort of styling apology because after all, the world of performance and speed pretty much revolves around coupes. There are exceptions to every rule and I think that this ’41 Buick is one of them. The car is flipping beautiful and because of its shape, the fact that it is a four door does not diminish the look at all.
The long nose, the big round headlights, and the prominent chrome grill all look fantastic when offset by the nice shade of red the seller doused the car with. The steel wheels and baby moon caps are another nice touch and the ride height being dropped just enough to see the car tucking some tire also makes me smile wide. Lastly the 455ci Buick engine under the hood seals the deal. Whoever did this car had an appreciation for the Buick brand and what it was all about.
It would have been easy to jam a 350 or a 454, or even an LS engine in this car but they kept it all tri-shield and I think it takes the car from cool to spectacular. No, it is not a race car and it likely will not dominate at the autocross but who the hell cares? This one is about class, cruising, and comfort. Those are three things that not every old car can brag about.
This one can.

So cool!
This car is really nice for the price! Ditch the ugly ass wheels and reinstall the hood ornament, turn signals, fender trim and rocker moundings and you’re in business!!
There’s a special place in heaven for the builder of this fine ride! What a sweet car!
