There are in-car road racing videos and then there are in-car videos of dudes who are true masters behind the wheel and this is one of the latter. Through virtually the entire lap of the famous Spa race course, this Porsche 911 is either sideways or trying to get sideways. The driver handles the whole thing like a boss, counter steering and fighting the car the entire way but it is still an amazing thing to watch, especially at times around :30 in when the guy is running almost flat out and the car gets tail happy. He handles the speed wiggle with no ill-effect and continues on. As you will note in the lead photo the track is heading to the right and the driver has the wheel in a near full left lock position. That’s the good stuff right there and why the video is called “On the Limit”

Outside of the sideways sliding and drifting, there are a couple of passes that will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Nearing the end of the video the driver flies past two cars with an equal number of wheels on the grass! There are blindly stupid aggressive moves and then there are calculated moves made by experienced drivers. This fellow, who is unnamed, is one of those guys. It takes some stones to drive this car the way the dude does and while sideways is certainly not the quickest way around the course on paper, this Porsche lives up to the Mark Donohue rule regarding horsepower. He used to say that if the car you were driving could leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner into the braking zone of the next you had enough power. This Porsche can do that for days!
