This In-Car Video Of Indoor Midget Racing In Atlantic City Is Pretty Wild – Full Contact Fun!

Racing inside has been part of the American competition landscape for years. Events like the Chili Bowl and others dominate the headlines when they are happening. Ice racers on wild motorcycles tear around hockey rinks across the world in the winter and midgets attack areas as well. This video is from one of those midget races which was held recently in Atlantic City, New Jersey. BangShifter Steve Shelvin sent us the link and for that we thank him.

The footage is awesome because it puts us in the car from the point of pulling into the arena all the way through the violent, crazy, and often yellow flagged race. This is full contact racing. You will see lots of violent hits and at one point you will see the car we’re riding in get two wheels hung up on a competitor’s vehicle! The tilted angle of the horizon seems to indicate the camera moved but it hasn’t. Our hero’s car bashes down to the ground and the guy who’s car he was stuck on goes whizzing past before smoke starts pouring out of his machine. Craziness.

When the cars are running at speed, this is some fun looking action. The course is obviously short, the concrete floor is pretty slick, and the cars are literally wheel to wheel with their little engines screaming away. Not for the faint of heart, we’d love to hop in one with no one else out there to get a feel for it. Jumping into this situation with no experience would likely result in a wrecked car and someone hurt!

What do you think? Would you like to give this style of racing a shot? Other than the yellow flags, we’d not change a thing about it.
