There are some videos that have sound which would literally rouse the dead if played loud enough. This is one of them.
Featuring the all conquering Pontiac Trans-Am of Roger Bolliger and the equally nasty mid-1960s Corvette Stingray of Gerhard Jorg, it is three minutes of fantastic road racing action with the soundtrack provided by two big (for road racing standards) cubic inch V8 motors working as hard as they can! As you’ll see the Pontiac (which is powered by a Pontiac engine) gets the better of the Chevrolet in this duel but Bolliger admits that he was driving hard to get away from Jorg and the green Corvette was awaiting any slip up form Bolliger. To us, this is what great road racing is all about. A couple of super talented guys in really cool cars running them for all they are worth. One of the funny aspects of this video is watching the pair swallow lap traffic whole. Small European cars, most of which we can’t even identify, disappear in a blink as the two bellowing monsters head past without so much as a hiccup!
After watching this video we want to rip the exhaust off of Buford, put a six speed in it and just start terrorizing a road course…or a go kart course…or anywhere we could flat foot the car out of the corners and jam gears to experience even a small dose of this awesomeness you are about to see.
