Alright girls and boys out there in BangShift land, if you live in the New England area I have a question for you: What are you doing June 7th and June 8th?
If the answer isn’t “Dodging some cones with my old iron at the SCCA TireRack Northeast Match Tour SOLO event at Devens-Moore Airfield in Ayer, MA“, then you need to clear your schedule because this is two days of non-stop cone murdering action that is bound to be a good time.
The CAM (Classic American Muscle) classes are being used for this event, so there’s no fear of having to run in a class with the neighborhood kid’s Honda Civic. To sweeten the pot, the CAM2 class (’73 to current) is pretty light in regards to entries at the moment, consisting of a ’95 Corvette, an ’02 Corvette, and yours truly with a completely outmatched G-body. The CAM class (’72 and below) is completely empty, so feel free to bring a friend!
I’ll be there flogging my Monte Carlo LS, grandma-friendly steering ratio, 150 horsepower SBC, and all, so I don’t want to hear any excuses about your car “not being prepped”. I do ask that you lend a hand if you see the Great White Heap off on the weeds, though.
Overall registration numbers are currently at 136, and online registration closes June 2nd. Cost for the two days is $95 plus a $15 fee at the door if you are not a current member of the New England Region SCCA club.
