Information? All the information you could possibly want on this Chevrolet Malibu is this: it’s got a North Carolina title and it’s street legal. Of course it is…North Carolina might as well be the home state of NASCAR. Racing royalty come from that part of the country, do you think that there aren’t any more good ol’ boys that know how to drive there anymore? Of course there are, you just don’t see them on the tracks much anymore. But the love of a stompin’ machine that can run to unholy speeds has not been forgotten. Racing categories still allow for stock-car like machines to go running, usually on dirt ovals but sometimes on asphalt, and many a GM G-body has met their fate as a prepped race car.
But how many have returned to the street? One has…from what little information we have, it appears that this Malibu was built up to be a racecar, then got pulled from the scene before it met a wall or a fellow racer’s machine and was put back on the street. The engine looks the part, the interior looks the part, the stance looks mean, and we bet that once the switches are flipped and the starter is engaged, that whatever mill is hiding under that air cleaner is barking loudly enough to rattle the dishes in the cupboards. Just the way we like it.
