Unveiled: Meet Nissan’s Second-Gen Juke-R: More Power, More Strangeness

Just when you thought there couldn’t be a stranger vehicle than a Nissan Juke, the company took one, plopped the body onto a Nissan GT-R’s floorpan, kept the fun parts of the GT-R, and unleashed the Juke-R: a not-so-cute-ute that proceeded to mop the floor with numerous super cars, including the Ferrari 599 GTO and the Bugatti Veyron.   Just keep that in mind when you look at this little sociopath here: this is the second coming of the frog-faced crossover, and it’s been on a steady diet of ‘roids, looking to stomp even more challengers. Using the updated-for-2015 Juke body, rumors are that underneath this Juke is the chassis of the NISMO GT-R that racing driver Chris Hoy mauled hay bales with at Goodwood last year, but whatever the case, this little black monster is now packing 600 horsepower, along with the GT-R’s mental all-wheel-drive system. Other modifications include a revised front bumper system to aid with cooling the VR engine, a rear bumper system with built-in diffuser, and bits of carbon fiber sprinkled throughout the psycho-ute. With the power on tap, it is expected to be able to  run 0-60 in under three seconds and, if the body doesn’t screw with the aerodynamics too badly, smack 200 mph.  So go ahead…call it ugly. Just know that this is one ugly mother with a helluva punch.

WEST SUSSEX, England (June 25, 2015) - The birth of the Nissan JUKE-R set a benchmark in 2011 as the world's first Crossover supercar, marrying Nissan's innovative JUKE with the engine and running gear from the legendary Nissan GT-R - the brand's flagship sportscar. Now, four years on, JUKE-R has been given an exciting upgrade to reflect the latest model of the JUKE coupled with even more power and bolder styling. Welcome the JUKE-R 2.0.
