Beyond The Concrete: The Upcoming Hurracan Sterrato Is A Dirt Ready Lambo We Really Want To Drive

(By Tom Lohnes) – Imagine this: You are a millionaire in need of a V10-powered supercar fitted from factory with long-travel shocks and off-road tires. Whatever shall you do? Well, Lamborghini seems to have the answer to that. Take a look at this teaser video they released of their upcoming Huracan Sterrato.

Lamborghini never doesn’t go crazy with their supercars. Sure, the Urus SUV is a tad mundane for the enthusiast, but that’s meant to be a tactical cash grab to fund other cars like the Sterrato. This Huracan is even more special than that though, because it very well could be the last V10-powered Lamborghini. The Italian marque did confirm a second-generation Huracan, but they did not specify what kind of engine it would have. We know that it will be a hybrid, but Lamborghini simply said that it will have more than six and less than twelve cylinders. That leaves the options of a V8 or a V10. Let’s pray for the latter.

Before the future comes though, let’s marvel at this V10, because a rally-bred supercar is not an everyday occurrence. Of course, this is not the Huracan you’d want if you like to track your cars, but this one will definitely make the biggest statement cruising down Rodeo drive. In the teaser video, the Sterrato is ripping through the Italian countryside, racing a woman on a mountain bike to a house pretty much in the middle of nowhere. After all of the glamor shots and V10 noises, the words “beyond the concrete” flash on the screen, and the video ends. It is a cool shot, and it doesn’t really leave us wondering anything (ahem, Toyota GR). There have been many variants posing as swan songs to supercars, but this might just be the best one yet. The Sterrato is a special, purpose-built machine that really took a lot of engineering to accomplish. Also, can you believe that the Huracan is nearly a decade old?

Expect more info on the Sterrato soon, as Lamborghini doesn’t wait too long after teasing a vehicle for the first time. A debut should happen before the end of the year.
