World Rally Championship racing is some of the most fun and extreme stuff you are ever going to watch, and it has been for decades. These teams not only prepare these cars for insane action and abuse, but the driver and co-pilot, or navigator, are often heroes in ways you might not expect. As these cars haul ass at speeds that no sane person would drive these small roads, the interaction between driver and co-pilot is often incredibly entertaining when things get tense. And nothing is more tense than when the road bites back. And it doesn’t matter whether a crash happens because of parts failure, driver error, or miscommunication, the results can be catastrophic.
But even the worst carnage doesn’t mean you are out, as these teams prove. But remember, when there is damage on the road the driver and co-pilot, sometimes with help from roadside spectators, have to fix things themselves. Sometimes they get advice from the crew back at the pits, but ultimately they are on their own to make repairs.
