This 1958 Chevy Half-Ton Truck Has NAPCO Four Wheel Drive and a 283!

This 1958 Chevy Half-Ton Truck Has NAPCO Four Wheel Drive and a 283!

Alrighty then! We have showed you like a million NAPCO equipped 1950s Chevy and GMC trucks over the years but this one may be our all time favorite. Why? It is not over restored, it is not over priced, and it is not something that you’d be afraid to actually use off road for fun. I mean you are not going to run the thing at King Of The Hammers but you could get out into the woods and stretch it’s legs some, right? This truck rules the school. Rather than a stove bolt six, the thing has a 283. It is stick shifted it has what look to be Cherry Bomb mufflers, and the green is so ugly it is fun, right?

This truck has a sale price of a shade under $20,000. Savvy negotiators could likely shave some off the top of that as well. We also like the fact that this is a half ton truck with four wheel drive because most of the NAPCO conversion rigs we have seen are 3/4 or one ton jobs because up until the middle 1950s that was all they offered the packages on from the “factory”. This is also a later NAPCO truck as GM took the four wheel drive installation process in house just a couple of years after this truck was built.

As neat as it is to see trucks that are restored to the edge of perfection, this is way more BangShifty. Yeah, the lower fender has a big amount of rot, but who cares. It isn’t like you are going to head to a concours judged show with this thing. You should hop into it, grab your kids, and head off to that fishing spot deep into the woods you normally take your cushy SUV to. This thing is way mo’ bettah’ than that thing!
