International Harvester did a heck of a job with their line of trucks and SUVs over the years. The company simply did not give into to the idea of “softening” things up for the general marketplace. Ultimately that likely limited sales and stuff but the reality is that when we look back at their stuff from today’s perspective it just comes across as big and strong and industrial strength as anything that has ever been built. This 1962 International Harvester C110 is a perfect example of the breed.
Fully frame-off restored, it has a 345ci International Harvester engine, four wheel drive, a perfect interior, and dash from a 1969 model because that’s what the owner wanted to do during the resto. The thing does come with the appropriate 1962 dash as well. This is NOT a truck that has been bastardized by ending up as a classic body on a modern chassis. Nope, this baby is ALL corn binder and that’s what really makes it great, especially the engine.
A point we make a lot here is that while the IH engines weren’t big horsepower makers, they were designed to make loads of law end torque and last forever. From the intake manifold down is heavy cast iron and that 345 comes in hundreds and hundreds of pounds heavier than a small block Chevy.
The only catch with this truck is the fact that it is located in Germany. The owner shipped it over when he moved there so whoever buys it will have to get it out of that country. People ship cars all the time these days so it should not be the end of the world but it does add a wrinkle.
