Yesterday I said something about how big crashes happen frequently at Dakar Rally. It’s no surprise that they do, Dakar sincerely the ultimate torture test for man, machine and the physics needed to make sure that both arrive at the next destination unscathed. Unfortunately for El Martillo Racing, that quite literally went up in flames. 

El Martillo’s Dodge Durango was making tracks on Stage 7A she they hit a particularly nasty section that had already claimed a few cars throughout the day…you can see the crowd trying to right another vehicle in the foreground…but even by Dakar standards this is a huge wreck. When you see the truck come into frame nose-down, falling fast and moving forward faster, you know it’s gonna be brutal, and we assure you, it is. There’s fire before the truck lands for the final time, and it’s not just a little bit, either. Luckily, both driver and co-driver are ok:
