Truckers, Let’s Hear It: The All-New Mack Anthem Truck Is Here, What Do You Think? (Videos)

It isn’t every day when one of the major truck manufacturer’s in the country releases a fresh rig but that’s exactly the case with the all-new Mack Anthem that the company recently released video of and a website for. The freshly designed machine has been tailored around efficiency, aerodynamics, driver comfort, and forward looking styling. Those were the goals, anyway and when you watch the videos below (Watch the first one first) you’ll see how the company approached the new truck.

Mack is no longer the independent company that it was for so many decades. The company is a subsidiary of AB Volvo so when you hear the guy talking about the fact that the truck has a gold Bulldog on the hood means that the thing is Mack from front to back including engine and axles, take it with a grain of salt. There was a time when it was true because Mack built its own engines, transmissions, etc. Those days are long since gone. That being said, we’re not shooting the truck down but we did want to share that.

You’ll see a lot of cool stuff in this video but you won’t see one glaring thing. A stick. These trucks, at least the one shown here is an automatic. We think that the truck looks pretty good and that the cab is larger than our first apartment.

Check it out and tell us what you think?

Looks good and I’m sure it’s smooth and quiet BUT there will be first year gremlins let’s hope they aren’t too bad. Our 680 KW’s with Cummins power have done well while the 660’s with PACCAR have their own bays at KW. Volvo builds solid trucks so I’m fine with Mack/Volvo. I’ll still take Freightliner, more miles with fewer repairs BUT a lot of those miles were pre Def which is what outs our 660’s too often with false readings and derates

Have observed several on I-78 in the Allentown area, ugly ugly ugly! I drive a 2016 pinnacle, while it\’s not bad looking, mechanically it is a total piece of shit. I\’ve been driving for 35+ years I took my road test on a 1962 H model, spent many years in R models and superliners, this truck let me repeat is ugly ugly ugly. Volvo ruined Mack.
