Amazing eBay Find: This Is The Nicest 1974 F-250 In The World – Factory Big Block And All

Amazing eBay Find: This Is The Nicest 1974 F-250 In The World – Factory Big Block And All

In 1974 Ford made 177,229 F-250 trucks in various forms but we’re going to tell you right here and now that this could be the best remaining one in the world. Originally purchased by a Ford dealer mechanic, it was optioned nicely, barely ever driven, always kept inside, and cared for wonderfully. This is not a recent restoration, this is a 100% original truck that was resprayed with the correct factory code paint 15 years ago. The 1970s era cap is also a perfect fit and while we’re not sure it has been there since the truck was new, it sure looks great now. The interior, again not restored, is perfect and the seat has the appearance that no one has ever used it before. In many ways this is a vacuum sealed time capsule of  truck.

The seller has some really detailed notes and information on the rig and of the more interesting points are that 1974 was apparently the first year you could get the 460 in a truck and this one has it. The base price was $3,172 and there were a hefty $2,000 of options slapped on top of that. Ordered from a North Dakota Ford dealer, the options were both interior and exterior minded. The two tone paint was an option, the XLT trim package was checked off, there’s an extra helper spring out back, it has the 6,900 GVW package, there’s additional factory gauges, an auxiliary 22.5 gallon fuel tank, and the list goes on.

The coolest thing about this truck to us is that it was bought and optioned by a guy who wrenched on this stuff all day. He knew what broke most frequently, what was in getting repaired, what was quality and what as not. This thing has lived the live of Riley and we’re hoping whoever gets it next continues to treat it well. Talk about factory fresh!

We actually had an F350, 1973 model, that my dad bought new for the farm, in fact it was the super camper special with the longer wheelbase with a factory 460. It was great for pulling farm wagons or any other machinery that we didn’t use the tractor for, will all that horsepower and longer wheelbase it didn’t know anything was back there most of the time. Being that I was always the tallest kid in the class, (I’m 6 foot six now even with two broken legs broken back and with a bunch of the broken stuff over the last few years) I could see over the steering wheel and through the windshield when I was seven or eight years old, this was the first thing other than drive on the street (other than for machinery and tractors of course) Damn I wish I still had the truck. In fact I got to find one now!

Would not take much time at all the remove all that old man stink off of it….Cap, giant mudflap, running boards…..Add some Western Turbines or Ansen style Slots and it would be perfect…

Several years ago I purchased a 76 f350 with 390 4v and factory a/c that lived its entire life in a mine. Had just over 70k original miles. Paid 1500 for it. Great truck and when washed and cleaned. Was easily on par with this one

Best body style Ford truck ever (78-79 is my fav)! I would ditch the camper shell and drive it everywhere!
