Dually Suburban For The Win! And It Is A Square Body! My Two Favorite Trucks Rolled Into One

Dually Suburban For The Win! And It Is A Square Body! My Two Favorite Trucks Rolled Into One

Square Body Chevrolet and GMC Duallies have enjoyed a HUGE rise in popularity in the past few years and I understand why completely. I mean just look at them. They are some of the best looking dually trucks on the planet, whether you lower them, lift them, or restore them to stock. But you all know that I also have a really bad passion for station wagons, and for Suburbans which are the station wagon of the truck world. I grew up in a Square Body Suburban as a kid. But when I first say a Suburban Dually, sometime back in the early 1980s, it was love at first site. And it still is.

This particular example is a really, really clean and nice one, that Charles Wickam actually saw at a recent show here in Texas. To find it for sale on Facebook was a surprise, but I think someone will end up with a really good truck if they fork over the cash. It isn’t cheap at $15,000 but I don’t think that is out of line either. I’ve seen Suburbans this nice with that asking price that were not Dually conversions, so maybe they’ll get it. The thing looks clean as hell, with nice paint and an interior that looks near mint from the photos.

We had 2 square Suburbans when I was a kid. A 73 half ton c10 with a 454. That was traded in when the ordered bad ass was delivered. A 78 K20 with a 4bbl 350, th400 and a 203 tcase. It had the snow plow prep package and with in two weeks sported a 7&1/2 foot Fisher plow with undirectional hydraulics. The stock tires were ditched for 33×16.5 Super Swampers. We had it until 1987 and it got traded in on a Astro conversation van. After my mom got injured, getting in and out of a higher riding truck was an issue. She did 75 percent of the plowing. That truck in 2 years paid for it’s self and the plow.
