I know, we’ve been on a ramp truck kick this week, but we can’t help ourselves. Take a look at this 1979 Ford 800 Fire Truck that is for sale in Mississippi for NO RESERVE! As of the writing of this blog item the price was only at $102.50! It’s low mileage, but has been sitting for years, which means it’s going to need work for sure, but who cares. The cab is awesome! Plus you can probably sell the pumper body to someone too. Ooooooh oooh ooh ooh, here’s an idea! Instead of making it a traditional ramp truck make this thing an off road camping and toy hauling master. Put a crawler or desert buggy or side by side up on the top of the pump body with ramps and use all the compartments for coolness. Hmmmm, making it 4-wheel drive and Powerstroke Powered could be cool as hell. But it is 429 powered, so it’s not some slouch.

Located in Mississippi, this truck belonged to a local fire department, we purchased this truck and several more from the fire department, purchased directly from the agency, not from a broker, dealer or auction, simply turning the truck into cash. After purchasing we put a hot battery in this truck, turned it over, got it to run but needs the carb rebuilt, will not stay running, ran enough pouring fuel in carb to know engine is not a problem just needs carb rebuild and fresh fuel, fire department said it had no issues at all when parked but was parked and not cranked or driven for about 5 years, the miles are said to be true and correct, only 8k, very, very low mileage engine if you need a Lima 429 V-8, if you need just the engine you are welcome to pull it where it sits and we will dispose of body/hull! We can load on any type trailer or transport, have dock, ramp, crane, forklift, etc.
