They may not be the most practical, but giant trucks on giant tires are cool as hell no matter who you are. If you drive around town in something like this there is nobody that will garner more attention than you will. Plus you can drive over just about anything you would encounter in town, including all those annoying vehicles that either cruise slow, have the wrong bumper sticker, or taunt their ecofriendliness as if that makes them somehow better. This thing is completely the opposite, and we love it.

I’ve lived with a daily driver lifted truck, although mine wasn’t on 50’s, and I can tell you that there are some serious challenges and a certain level of attention you must pay in order to drive one. It won’t fit in any parking garage, so if you are in town you best plan accordingly. It also isn’t good at parking on the street, because the width is such that you are going to crowd the right lane at a minimum, or block it at the maximum. Even fueling a truck like this can be a challenge as you’ll need to do a little climbing to reach the fuel door depending on how tall you are. And forget about getting into it gracefully. Sure you’ll figure out the best way, but it certainly won’t be the smoothest thing to get in and out of.
