This 1965 W500 Dodge Power Wagon Is A Crane Truck We Could Love

This 1965 W500 Dodge Power Wagon Is A Crane Truck We Could Love

Can you imagine all the cool stuff you could do with this thing?! I can see turning it into an awesome King of the Hammers or Baja Chase Truck so that when your race rig pulled up you could just lift it off the ground for whatever work was needed. And it’s stupid clean! The fact that it is seen here working with giant logs shows you that it might be pretty but it can still work. The 50 mph top speed probably means we’d near a new set of gears out back, and a Gearvendors, if we wanted to run today’s freeway speeds with it. That said, I suppose you don’t have to be in a hurry if you have this thing either.

It was originally a power company auger truck, for drilling holes to put in power/telephone poles. The auger isn’t included anymore but, for us anyway, the crane on it’s own is more useful.

Man how cool would this completely impractical 1965 W500 Dodge Power Wagon make you!?

Area code is around the south end of the Puget Sound in Washington state. Tacoma, Spanaway, Roy. Pics seem to match the area code. (Lived there when stationed at Fort Lewis, now Joint Base Lewis McChord.)
