4×4 vans are cool, I don’t care who you are. But they aren’t very common in comparison to your average white plumbers 2-wheel drive van seen all across the country. But even when the factory didn’t offer a 4×4 option, companies like Pathfinder were there to make sure you had all the off-road capabilities of a new truck but with a van body. Pathfinder was located in Southern California and used all factory heavy duty components to take your average Chevrolet or GMC van and make it 4-wheel drive. Of course they specialized in making them extra cool with all the expected van bells and whistles inside, and more room for activities with raised roofs and sun roofs. We approve. The expedition crowd has been in love with these things for years and you can find some cool builds online where guys are taking an old one like this and outfitting it for long trips off-road. Again, we approve.
But this one isn’t that. It’s cooler than that in many ways, mostly because of the huge attitude it has been given thanks to the 8-inch suspension lift and 37 inch Goodyears on bitchin 8-lug Slot Mags. I’m in love.
Anyone who scoffs at 4×4 vans, especially from the 1970s, should actually spend some time in one and then say they still don’t like them.
Keep on TRUCKING !!!
