Crew Cab trucks are awesome, regardless of year, make, or model, but some are better than others. This 1979 Ford Crew Cab Shortbed is an example of the some of the best. Just look at this thing! Not only is it clean as can be, but also has some cool custom features that you expect on later model trucks or your favorite hot rod. All the pinstriping and leaf are great looking with the root beer brown, and the later model mirrors actually seem to work. It sits nice, although if it was ours we’d pull a couple more inches out of the altitude, and we’d probably swap out the wheels. I have to say, since we’ve recently been looking at 8 lug wheel options, there are not nearly as many cool wheel options for the 8 lug crowd as there should be. It’s sad actually.
But this one looks good. We dig it. And we’d drive it. Wouldn’t you?
Here is what the seller has to say about it:

That’s not a Windsor in that truck, try Cleveland or Modified.
I would say the owner isn’t a true car person. I don’t think they know what engine it has, or really know too much automobiles. That’s Okay, just always but they always make huge errors.
The color is ehhhh.. If it had Tan in the center of in ford Two Tone, then maybe a some Large flake in the clear coat it would rock. And yes Virginia you can put flake in Clear coat. I knew a painter that loved to sneak diamond flake in to Clear Coat when he let people barrow his spray booth and guns.
I think that truck is a good foundation, yet needs more things done. First off they put on a new lmc or FEY rear bumper. It needs a class 3 to 5 receiver hitch. Then it nee4s a powertrain upgrade. I like the Ford 5.4LV8 & automatic found in the pick ups and vans. Find a running one in a beat to crap truck or van. Do the swap. Make the thing a daily driver. It would tow a trailer decently with the weight and wheel base.
I also don’t like the grill insert. I prefer the Stock grill. Also don’t care for the wheels. Nor the steering wheel.
