Unless you are building some spectacular custom ramp truck, the biggest name in the business is Hodges Custom Haulers. Based in Benton, Kentucky, Hodges has been in business for more than 30 years and is known for building really awesome truck bodies for those of us that want to haul cars on our trucks. The price is actually pretty reasonable, considering that you can get your truck outfitted with their body, painted to match and ready to rock, for as little as $10,000. And that’s for a truck that can haul one of the Hodges bed and one on a trailer behind it. That’s the ticket by the way. If you are going to own a ramp truck, then you want to tow an open trailer behind it for two car hauling. Just sayin’. Anyway, what is interesting is the fact that despite being able to call Hodges and have them build one for you, people tend to scour the world trying to find them for sale used. An OBS crew cab Hodges would be one of my dream rigs, and this one is close. With the OBS body, but in an extended cab configuration, this one will haul anything you want and do it reliably, according to the seller.

It’s lived it’s life in New York, which has not been super kind to the bed, but we’re sure it can be tuned up and made to look pretty again. The seller says the thing has been treated well and that the big block runs mint and it will haul your car back and forth across the country right this second with no hesitation. I like the confidence, that’s for sure. If someone on here wants to buy this thing, I’ll drive to it, load my car on it, and drive it to you for the cost of fuel and snacks. Seriously.

This truck was owned by the same person for twenty years..It has been used exclusively to transport personal classic cars(Anywhere and Everywhere)(not to tow other peoples cars)..Prior to that ownership it belonged to Chip Miller of Carlisle Productions who also only used it in the same manner.. The Truck is a 1993 Chevrolet 3500 series(Heavy Duty)Silverado Dually Pick-Up that was converted to a Ramp Truck By Hodges Custom Coach builders when new(There is a seat in the back that can be used for passengers,,or folded up for more cargo space)..It is powered by its Original simple bullit-proof 454 Big Block engine with Heavy Duty automatic overdrive transmission with Highway gears..
It has always been METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED and I would not hesitate to drive it Cross-Country anytime.
Some of its NEW mechanicals are complete brake system(wheel cylinders,calipers,brake lines,master cylinder),,exhaust system,,radiator,,waterpump,,front end,,belts,hoses,,Etc,Etc—–Every thing works exactly as it should,including the Ice COLD AIR CONDITIONING..
There is no special license you need to drive this,,,or special insurance(like a flatbed)There are no messy Leaky hydraulics to go bad or break down with,,,,just pull the ramps out and drive it on,,,or the Heavy Duty winch will pull a tank up..
