When I Grow Up I Want To Be A Ramp Truck: This 1963 Chevy L60 Deserves That Chance!

When I Grow Up I Want To Be A Ramp Truck: This 1963 Chevy L60 Deserves That Chance!

Sometimes we find cool ramp trucks online that we just dream of owning. Other times we find a truck that is just begging to be made into a ramp truck, like this ultra cool 1963 Chevrolet L60. It’s going to need some work, and we understand that, but man it would be fun to build. The go to scenario on something like this is usually to ditch all but the cab and throw it on a late model dually chassis with a ramp body on it, but we wouldn’t do that. I would take this sucker as is and do an engine swap, probably to a 12v Cummins, with a 5 or 6 speed the original two-speed rear axle, and throw some new suspension up front to get it into the weeds and then do a heavy duty 4-link setup from the guys at Kelderman for the rear. On air this thing would lay out and look sick as hell. Now someone just needs to loan me the money. Check this thing out!

Here is what the seller says:

This is a very rare truck. GM actually calls it an LCF or cab forward but most people refer to it as a COE or pug nose. It has a strong 292 gas engine, 4 speed transmission and 2 speed rear. This thing has a very straight body and is nearly rust free. All the glass is perfect. I was going to put either a roll back or a dove tail car hauler bed on it and use it to haul antique cars on. I bought it from a man that had it since 1971 and he used it to haul grain during harvest season until 1996 and used it some after that around the farm. It used to have a flatbed dump bed on it but was removed prior to me owning it. The truck has its original paint (you can see the markings under the hood from the factory) and has an awesome patina. The truck runs & drives as I have done a lot of work to it to get it road worthy. It has a new carburetor, professionally cleaned out radiator & gas tank, new fuel sending unit, brake & clutch master cylinder, brake hoses, brake lines, muffler, tailpipe, valve cover / oil pan / side cover / & head gaskets, valve stem seals, oil change & filter, fuel filter & lines, heater core, and recent battery. All the lights, wipers, horn, gauges etc. work. It has a clean Texas title and original antique 1963 Texas plates. It also comes with a pair of chrome big rig exhaust stacks that I wanted to put on it.I will deliver it if you don’t live too far away. Please call me at 817-528-3204. Thank you. $4650 OBO
