The Fastest Log Vehicle Ever Is Turbine Powered Which Seems Odd And Dangerous

The Fastest Log Vehicle Ever Is Turbine Powered Which Seems Odd And Dangerous

We were enjoying some swinging chairs at Barrett-Jackson when we came upon this crazy Guinness Book of Records Record Holder tree stump. Well technically it’s a log. According to the display, this crazy Canadian contraption holds the record for being the World’s Fastest Motorized Log. It is called the Pioneer Cedar Rocket and it apparently tripped the mph cones at the dragstrip at 55mph, although the Guinness Record says 47.64.

I have to say, when I first saw this thing I thought it was a gimmick that was just for show but then looked down to see that it is also Ridetech Equipped! LOL Okay, even with the Ridetech Coil Overs I thought it was a gimmick and wondered just how someone could go that slow even in a car that is a log. Of course the smack talking began and then we realized that this thing was powered by the Turbines that are mounted to the rear, and that they are NOT props. So maybe the 47, or 55mph, isn’t all that bad.

But think about this for a second. Everyone walks by this thing, and it’s Buffalo Turbines, thinking how cool it is and that kind of makes me want to gripe. After all, if Wile E. Coyote strapped a pair of ACME Turbines to a log with 4 wheels, in an effort to catch the Road Runner, we’d all laugh and think he was nuts. Am I right? Are we more forgiving because they guys that did it are Canadian? Does that make us more understanding of the weirdness going on here?

I’m not sure, but ultimately it’s funny. Funny too because it’s true mode of propulsion is a bit of a mystery. It says it is powered by batteries, but also talks about the Turbines. Are they electrically driven turbines? I’m not sure. But what I am sure of is the fact that we could surely build a much fast log than this one, but would it be this creative and cool? Probably not, because we’d go so far to the extreme as to make it way less log than this sucker is.

Good on you Canadian dudes! Your log is faster than anyone else’s.

This looks like it should have been used in “The Flintstones Meets the Jetsons”.

I Googled “Buffalo Turbines” and sure enough, this appears to be an electrically driven ducted fan and not a jet engine. When I saw the picture, I had been hoping for real jets.
