Big block 1960s, 1970s, and 1980’s trucks are one of those must have trucks that everyone is always looking for. Finding one in a 3/4 or 1 ton model is most likely, but the early 1/2 ton trucks did sometimes get the big block box checked when they were ordered. Those are the ones everyone is always after. The mythical short bed, 1/2 ton, big block truck is like the unicorn every car guy dreams of. But what about the other 1/2 tons? You know, like Blazers and Suburbans! Yeah, those are cool as hell too, especially when you find one like this bitchin 1971 Suburban.
This thing is optioned out in all the right ways and was the perfect family vacation cruiser back in the day. If we had ordered it, the only thing we’d change is the addition of a 3rd row seat. But check out the overhead air! That still works!! Yeah, this one is ultra cool and the only thing we’d do to it is lower it and add a real stereo system. Then we’d drive it until the wheels fell off. What about you?
