Oh yeah, combustion is fully visible in this bad boy! Last week we had a video that showed a glass cylinder on an engine, but this is just one of the many videos the guys at 805RoadKing have put together trying to make this Briggs engine run with a glass cylinder head. And it works. And works well. Because the Briggs is a flat head design, you get to watch the combustion, the valves opening and closing, etc. It really is pretty cool, and if you want to see all the details on how they did it you can visit their YouTube Channel and see all the videos. Saw one of these demo engines at Exposition Park in LA in the ’50’s. Featured a ultra slo mo movie showing the flame spread across the cylinder. Cool stuff!
I’ve seen a glass cylinder engine before, but they aren’t easy to find. This looks a lot more attainable.
