(By Tom Lohnes) – It ain’t no Raptor, but the 2022 Ford F-150 Tremor packs a giant off-road punch at significantly less money than the Raptor.
With the yet-to-be-driven Ford Ranger Tremor and the Super Duty Tremor that is about 3,000 pounds too heavy to off-road with, the F-150 Tremor puts the bridge between the small, agile Ranger and large, cumbersome Super Duty. The Tremor can be had with any engine in the F-150 lineup besides the 3.3-liter V6 exclusive to the XL work truck. That means power can range anywhere from 290hp to 470hp, which basically menas there’s a tremor for everyone.
Off-road goodies consist of better tires, now 33 inches tall, optional beadlock wheels, a 1-inch lift, and some blacked out running boards that were taken from the last-gen Raptor. Inside, the Tremor can be anything from spartan to luxurious, due to the fact it is available on any trim from the Average XLT to the ultra-luxe Limited. Unlike the ram Rebel, 4WD is standard, but air suspension is not offered.
The new F-150 is one of the most customizable vehicles on the market, so get creative with it. And, being the most sold vehicle in America, chances are you’ll own one in your lifetime. Good luck spec-ing one.
