The new Hooker Blackheart engine mounts for LS/LT swaps in OBS GM trucks are here and looking awesome! These new brackets fit 1988-1998 GM trucks and take all the guesswork out of these engine swaps. They fit so well that you can use stock LS exhaust manifolds, and even use your existing transmission in its stock location which means the original transmission crossmember and driveshaft are used saving you big money. There are multiple options for the brackets so if you are swapping the trans at the same time, to say a T56, then that is an easy bolt-in as well with the right set of new mounts. There are three mount options available here.
The first two premium options replace the frame mounts on the OBS trucks and then utilize Hooker polyurethane clamshells and factory LS truck engine brackets. The second standard option replaces the mount on the engine side and uses the stock OBS V8 frame mounts. All three options allow the use of the stock transmission crossmember and original driveshaft.

Hooker BlackHeart application-specific LS/LT swap engine mounting brackets eliminate the installation guesswork and compatibility uncertainty that comes with using universal swap plate mounting methods. These mounting brackets are available with forward-bias, rearward-bias, or dual engine mounting positions that optimize powertrain placement based on user-selected transmission, transfer case and driveshaft compatibility/retention priorities.
The factory transmission crossmember is re-used with these mounting brackets (cost savings since driveshafts and crossmember are re-used).
Factory LS Vortec exhaust manifolds can be used along with the engine mounting brackets and are required to support a street-legal engine change (with catalytic converters). Off-road racing applications can use Hooker BlackHeart BH13266 LS Swap Headers or BH 13272 LT Swap Headers. Mounts feature a black powder-coated finish and include (2) engine mounting brackets, attaching hardware and instructions.
