As car guys and gals we are well versed in rebuilding stuff, but even though we are the masters of the restoration and modification we still live in a time when getting new and throwing away the broken is becoming the standard. It is easier to buy something new than to take the old thing and bring it back to life. And in some cases, it is because the broken stuff can’t be fixed or isn’t worth it, but not always. In the case of this Warn 8274 that Fred Williams has, there is no doubt that it is worth fixing if it can be. These are workhorse winches that have been a staple in the off-road world for over 50 years! This one is certainly worth fixing.
Video Description:
I have an old Warn 8274, an iconic winch that has been around for ages and it’s time to give it a new lease on life with a fresh new motor. These upright winches are known for their strength and they just look right on a classic 4×4 or truck, so I’m putting one on my 1967 GMC, but first its getting some parts and fresh oil so I’m not stranded from my recovery gear. The new Motor is Part# 68608 The new Gear is Part# 98380 The new Controller is Part# 83665 The new Control Pack is Part# 102339 I also added 150 feet of Winch Rope and a Warn Epic Hook
All parts available from warn.com or from your local Warn Authorize Service Center
