Cutting glass isn’t a complicated task when you are talking about flat glass for a hot rod, custom, or truck, but that doesn’t mean you can’t screw it up or be intimidated by it. In this video Brent at Halfass Kustoms gets his glass grinding on to cut new vent window glass for The General, his International Crew Cab pickup truck. If you don’t have glass cutting experience then this video just might help you out. With the right tools you can make this into a less stressful project than you might think.
Watch the video below and you’ll see Brent cutting the rough shape and then using a special grinding disc on his 4.5 inch angle grinder to clean the glass up to the finished dimensions. In a professional glass shop they would use a large belt sander for this, but if you don’t have such a thing then this disc could be your savior. Check out the process and the finished product and see what you think.
