Everyone knows Boyd Coddington’s history as a hot rod builder, but if you weren’t around in the late 1980s through mid 1990s then you might not have experienced the sport truck movement enough to know that Boyd was also instrumental in that market. But if you are thinking ” Of course Chad, everyone knew that Boyd’s wheels were on everything back then.” you are only scratching the surface.

While Boyd’s wheels were huge in the sport truck world, Boyd also customized trucks and created trends in other parts besides wheels. This video will explain what we are talking about while also showing a time capsule of a truck from 1989. Check it out.

Video Description:

With the help of Chris Coddington, owner of Hot Rods By Boyd, we take a look back at an iconic Chevrolet sport truck that helped set several trends in the OBS truck world. In the late 1980s, Boyd Coddington not only built high-end hot rods and customs but blended his style to sport trucks including a chopped GMC truck complete with custom touches and linear paint job.

Luckily, that truck, built-in 1989 is still in near flawless condition today and has made its way back into the Coddington clan’s garage.
