Here is the third video in this cool custom dash series.

I happened upon this video series the other day and knew I had to share it. After recently posting a video of Brent at Halfass Kustoms doing a Pontiac dash swap in a ’53 GMC pickup, this 1967 C10 project caught my eye. But instead of swapping in some other factory dash, this guy here is building himself a custom dash from foam and chipboard and fiberglass, after mocking it all up with cardboard. You are going to want to check this out if you have ever thought about something truly custom like this. My mind usually goes to doing stuff like this out of steel, or aluminum, but the truth is that doing so often requires more tools than some folks have.

Fiberglass doesn’t take the tools, but definitely takes time and energy. But how much?

I think this is a cool project and it makes me want to build a custom dash of some kind for one of my projects now. We’re going to start with the first two videos below, which show the mockup and design of the dash, as well as building the structure for the foam and fiberglass to come. We’ll share the rest of them in the series in the coming days, so stay tuned.
