No Big Mountains: This Film Celebrating The Life and Genius Of RG LeTourneau Is Awesome – An American Original

When it comes to people who have literally helped shape the world we live in, RG LeTourneau may loom as the largest figure in the story. An Earth-moving contractor with a genius mind for developing machinery to do specific jobs, it did not take LeTourneau long to figure out that he would be cheating himself and the industry if he didn’t go into the equipment business full time. A business and an empire were born. One that still is innovating and creating today.

This film was made by Firestone tires to celebrate their 75th anniversary of doing business with the company RG founded. It tells really cool history through stories, period films, and still photos. The talk about revolutionizing things by moving to a hybrid diesel electric design, the embrace of rubber tires, hydraulics, and the list goes on. Not to mention the idea that virtually nothing was size limited. The stuff that came out of Texas and the LeTourneau plant was big, bold, and beautiful. It was also virtually unstoppable and helped to increase the speed and accuracy of jobs.

If you have any interest in Earth moving equipment and machines, this is a must watch!
