We Love Trucks Jumping Giant Sand Dunes! Watch This 169 Foot Leap At Huckfest In Pismo!

There is something about giant dune jumps that just does it for us. And truthfully they could be done by a buggy or a bike or a bus for all we care. But there is something special about trucks doing big giant jumps that just makes the hair on our necks stand up in all the right ways. Maybe it is because they tend to look a lot like the Baja racers we so love, and maybe it’s because sometimes they ARE the Baja racers we know and love. Whatever the reason, we sure do dig them and can’t get enough of their high flying antics. And one of the best events in jumping history has to be Huckfest in Pismo Beach. It is no longer around, because of the giant crowds it ultimately attracted, but man there are still some good highlights floating around on the web.

In this video, Mike “Hollywood” Higgins travels from Michigan just to set the record for the longest jump. He crushes the high flying competition with a 169 foot blast that has the truck launching a bit sideways or it would have been even further. In fact, it launches sideways, lands way sideways, and proceeds to tear up some stuff on the truck which kinda sucked. Sure he won the trophy, but we can only imagine how far this crazy man would have launched this sucker if you gave him a few more tries.
