Before we get into this let me hike up my trousers, perfect my comb over, and get my Members Only jacket on. I am about to go full old-guy here so I may as well look the part. Look, remember when monster trucks used to do other stuff aside from squashing cars? They’d go sled pulling, hit the mud bog, do tug of war type stuff, and the list goes on. Yeah, I know that today’s monster trucks can perform flips and other feats that defy physics but they are not as cool as their steel bodied grandfathers. This video proves it.
You are about to see Bigfoot 1 in all of its glory, Bob Chandler on the wheel, Predator carbs slugging air and fuel, and nitrous flowing though its big block veins, hammer a mud pit in Illinois circa 1988. This is too cool. Think about making wheel speed in a mud pit with 66″ tall tires. That takes some horsepower. Obviously the steep gearing of the Rockwell top loader axles helps as well but the BBF engine in the truck sounds the stuff when it is roaring at full song.
We cannot imagine the pain in the ass it was to clean that big sucker up at the end of the weekend. The truck went from pristine to looking like the Swamp Thing in no time flat.
