Bar Raising Trar? This Four Wheel Drive Camaro Isn’t Fully Hill-Jack – There’s Merit To This One

Bar Raising Trar? This Four Wheel Drive Camaro Isn’t Fully Hill-Jack – There’s Merit To This One

Even in the land of the trar there’s a hierarchy. You know what we’re talking about. There’s a difference between a bottom rung trar and what you see in the photos below. This thing is actually pretty awesome because there’s been some care and skill gone into its fabrication. Far beyond just plunking the Camaro body directly to the truck frame and having at it, the body was actually channeled down somewhat to hide as much of the truck frame as possible, there’s been a roll cage added, and the best part is the spare 36″ Super Swamper tire mounted on the baja truck like mount under the rear hatch! The Camaro does lack one thing…a title. This would either be a “for fun only” rig or if you are a masterful guru of red tape navigation you may be able to get the thing legalized again.

The engine is a carb’d small block Chevrolet, the factory Camaro interior has been largely retained and there’s a couple of racing style buckets that have five point belts coming through them to secure the driver and the passenger during off roading fun. There’s a winch mounted up front, the suspension has been treated to what look to be some more aggressively arched springs and Superlift shocks, etc. All and all this thing looks way more capable than a typical trar that is a stock truck chassis with 31″ tires on it.

While we’re not quite ready to declare this machine king of the trars yet we do think that it is definitely among the top 10 we have ever seen in the fit and finish department.

Thanks to Matt Cramer for the tip!
