This isn’t just a big tractor…it’s been the biggest tractor in the world since 1977. It weighs in at up to 68 tons in normal working trim. That’s about the same weight as an M1 tank and it can pack in a thousand gallons of diesel fuel in the tank. Fourteen feet tall, nearly thirty feet long, over 25 feet wide with the tires, and tires that are eight feet tall…it’s a beast. And it’s the only one like it. Which, honestly, is a bit of a problem for the big beast. You see, the 747 was in active service until 2009, when the big monster was retired to museums. Not because it wasn’t a worker, but because the original tire manufacturer, United Tire Company of Canada, went bankrupt in 2000. The tires were just about dead and done…and where are you going to get tires that stand two feet taller than most men to replace them with?
Leave that to Goodyear, who just replaced those worn-out treads with LSW1400/30r46 tires with new wheels made by the Williams brothers, the current owners of the 747. And to celebrate, they took the tractor out for a cruise. Which means that they drove it around, trying to not squash cars and buildings.
Lets hope they sell the used tires to gyms that hype cross fit, lets see em flip those in part of the workout

Seriously you guys need to realise that America isn’t the whole world. Yeah it’s big but compared to what’s used here in Australia that looks like a dinky toy. To call something the biggest in the world, it has to include the rest of the world. It is a cool tractor I’ll give you that.
