Cool Motorhome – Nutty Price – Would You Pay $75,000 For This 1973 Roxor?

Cool Motorhome – Nutty Price – Would You Pay $75,000 For This 1973 Roxor?

If you are looking for one of the neatest and more rare examples of a 4×4 motorhome from the 1970s, we’ve got it right here in front you. In addition, this one also appeared on TV as part of the series Rock My RV and was upgraded significantly inside and also modified outside with the polished aluminum look you see in the photos below. Built by a company called ROXOR Inc, which was based in Ohio, this motorhome is based on a Dodge truck chassis and has a 360 engine, four wheel drive, and super beefy Dana 70 axles front and back which have 4.88 gears in them. The transmission is a 727 Torqueflite, there’s an NP205 transfer case and according to the seller, the whole thing only has a total of 27,000 original miles. That means the 360 is probably about ready for its first rebuild.

There are a couple claims in the ad that don’t seem to be all that true. One of which is that the vehicle was assembled by Bradley Fighting Vehicles which we do not believe is true because Bradleys were built by FMC and they were basically in the prototype stage in 1973. One thing that cannot be denied is the cool aluminum construction of the thing. The seller claims that it was designed to survive a roll over and the whole vehicle is constructed of tempered T6061 aluminum that is backed up with a square tube frame under the skin. On the TV show, the winch was added as well as stuff like a new heater, fridge, wheels/tires, shocks/suspension, etc. We’re sure it is the best looking and running 1973 ROXOR left in the world, if not the only ROXOR left in the world but the asking price is nuts. When you look at what you can get for $75,000 on the used motorhome market, why would you buy this one? The four wheel drive is cool, the submarine style escape hatches are cool, and the Dodge truck grill kind of jammed up into the front of the thing is cool, but minus a couple of gun mounts, the thing looks like an overgrown Grumman truck.

What do you think? Cool but priced to the moon? Cool and priced right? Not cool and should be melted into a puddle of molten aluminum? You tell us!

$75,000? Not cool and priced to the sun. Pull the engine and trans for a future project and scrap the rest.

BTW, with only 27,000 miles that 360 has a whole heap more life in it. It’s Mopar engine, not a Chevy.

    75K?

I guess the drug problem in Mexifornia is worse than we thought.

$75K for what amounts to a slightly over built aluminum box on wheels pretending to be an RV .. with a dated MOPAR motor that was never any good to begin with under the hood ? Jeeze ! And here I thought the 420 problem was bad here in CO [ and soon to be WA ] Obviously everyone hasn’t legalized it yet but is dealing with it a whole lot more . Either that or Dr Tim’s followers have been dumping some o’ that KickaPoo JoyJuice in Calis water supply .

Looking it over I’ll bet this thing is hotter than Hades in summer as well .

cool in some weird way (yes I am in Ca.), about 85% overpriced, wish the owner luck at that price
