Mark Covey is the inspired BangShifter that tipped us off to the most genius use for an old school bus ever which is currently for sale on Craigslist. The premise is insanely simple in the fact that you simply remove the nose and running gear from and old school bus, weld on a massive gooseneck or fifth wheel style hitching setup and then drag the whole deal down the road behind your dually pickup. Is it too long to be legal? Who the hell knows and who the hell cares. Does the bus have functional brakes? Meh, that’s not going to sway us one way or the other. Does the bus still have the steering wheel and stuff in it? Hell yes it does and that means you should buy this.
According to the seller, the trailer is fully self contained minus the generator which you could probably handle as a crafty BangShifter. This thing was a 1984 GMC 40 passenger bus but all the seats have been removed and all the comforts of home reside in there from a kitchen to a sleeping area and even a place to deposit the recycled Budweiser that would undoubtedly be cursing through your veins with all the partying you’d be doing on the decapitated bus.

With all that steel in the hitch why not just put a fresh motor in it and drive it as a bus? It must be heavy as hell.
I just can not believe the (crap) people build. It would be an embarrassment to tow any where.Kill it with fire.
That much weight and no brakes? No thanks.
It doesn’t say it doesn’t have brakes. I see a vacuum booster, there are vacuum operated trailer brakes available.
$100 says this baby ends up at Burning Man.
The fifth wheel for those who don’t hallucinate enough while on LSD.
There was one for sale on Craigslist down here several years ago… I couldn’t talk myself into it then, it’s not likely I will now. Now, a 71 passenger, 40 feet of fun.. mebbe.
Not.
Needs the door fixed (raised). I think it would either drag, tip, or stick where I would want to take it.They clear pretty good with front wheels but with the pivot that far out? Watch out for drainage ditches. Really though, you lose the charm of a school bus if you can’t drive it!!
