Craigslist Find: A Properly Rat-Rodded 1948 International Wrecker With Minneapolis-Moline Power!

Craigslist Find: A Properly Rat-Rodded 1948 International Wrecker With Minneapolis-Moline Power!

A cut down old wrecker with some hot-rodding touches and a tractor engine…if there was ever a Craigslist ad targeted straight towards Brian, I’ve yet to see it. While Brutus the Wrecker has a lot going for it, this might be one that puts the boss over the moon.

1948 International 1 1/2 ton wrecker. Channeled frame 512 cu in 10.1 compression minneapolis moline straight six motor. Runs Great!
-modified intake with 2 barrel carter carb (new)
-350 turbo transmission (needs to be installed)
NO title. bill of sale $3200.00 or trade for gas golf cart, mustang, or firebird trans-am.

The only thing that seems to be missing is a third pedal and a real shifter, and I’m sure that a granny-low four-speed can be made to hold up behind the big six. It’s unknown if the wrecker boom works, and of course “no title” isn’t what anyone wants to see, but a bill of sale should get the ball rolling for one. What do you think…is it time for Brian to get a tractor-engined hot rod?

Okay, that is seriously awesome! I ran a Minneapolis-Moline puller for a while (a 665 cube 4-banger), and they are really well build engines!
And, if this engine doesn’t work out, he could always put a MM 800-cube power unit engine (on Propane) in there!
