(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Trucks big and small. Trucks wide and tall. Trucks old and new. Trucks for me and you. I used to teach 2 and 3yr-olds Sunday School. Some of that has to come out once in a while.
Not even half of all truck manufacturers were represented, but still we had plenty. These included Chevy, GMC, Ford, Dodge, IH, Peterbuilt, KW, Mack, Freightliner, Federal, and Willys. We had everything from working, over-the-road semis to a 2nd-gen Chevy Luv (Isuzu P’up). There were lifted, lowered, warmed over, crusty, and dead stock examples. This is equine, bovine, and farm country so there are plenty of trucks around on a daily basis. Some of those get retired and lead a much more pampered life. Hopefully next year we will see even more.
*Note… We missed getting a lot of photos from cars on the other side of the railroad tracks because….there was a train doing to car switching and another passing through both time as we neared crossing over. We never got to at least one parking lot full of stuff at this year’s event. When we did get over there nearly everyone had left. Bummer.
Stay plugged in and follow the Cynthiana Rod Run on facebook. Come give it a whirl next year.
See ya.
