eBay Find: This 1979 Dodge SE 300 Truck Is Mostly Stock With One Awesome Exception

There’s nothing overtly wrong with a bone stock 1979 Dodge SE 300 dually truck. They had great styling, they were tough as nails, they were rocking good axles, a Torqueflite transmission, and the best rear dually fenders of the era. They were also packing about 200hp out of a pinging, wheezer of a 400i engine that was supposed to lug you and all of your stuff around. The precious owner of the truck you can see above and below addressed the engine issue in the best way he knew how, by going with a slightly older but far more suitable engine, a 440 built to 1969 HP specs.

In checking out the ad, it seems as though the truck has all the original sheetmetal but it has been repainted sometime in its life. That is not a huge deal for us because the thing looks so flipping good. There does not appear to be a nick or dent on it. The interior is as good as the body with no signs of a hashed dash, mangled seat, or otherwise screwed up passenger compartment. This is an extended cab style truck but the “extension” part of the cab does not contain a seat but rather room to put stuff inside and protected from the elements.

The engine is what really kicks this thing up a couple of notches and we’re going straight to the ad for that description: (click on it to enlarge)

      I’m the same thinking as * HOTROD * I don’t see $21,000.00 here & I dearly love ole’ Dodge trucks….What I see is $15,000.00 max…..It is a really nice truck & $15,000.00 is some really nice money..

If anyone paid more than $8,000 for it then they must be high. Even with 69 440 power it’s still a 6000 lb truck. 8 mpg on a good day at 65 mph.

I noticed the drivers door seal is tore and the quick car lot detail and painting the frame is very poor. Looks like a 100,000 + miles. Lots of cover up. Over priced big time.
