We have seen lots of flower cars here at BangShift over the years and most of them have been of the type you’d expect. Lincolns, Cadillacs, and other big cars. It makes sense that those would be the favored styles because they’d require far less heavy modification to get themselves into the right form to be hauling a casket and loads of flowers around. A 1940 Ford coupe is not one of the cars that someone would immediately think about building as a flower car but that’s exactly what we have to show you right here.
It is kind of a natural thing to default to the Foose, Barris, Winfield, and Jeffries mental space when the words custom car are said aloud but the reality is that this thing is as coach built and custom as any of that stuff, maybe more. We do not have specs on the amount of wheelbase added or who built the car but this thing is a masterpiece. Just look at the sides of the best area and notice that they are not just flat. No they have the same gentle curve as the door and the rest of the car. That took immense talent to create.
If you are wondering that the rear door handle is for we think that there are some small doors that open at the font of the bed to allow items to be loaded into the bed and the driver to get access to the area as well. The massive tonneau cover is really sweet, to boot.
There’s a little 239ci Flathead making the power, it wears factory style wheels, has a factory interior and is the only 1940 Ford Flower car we have ever seen. To get all the details on this one you got hit the link at the bottom of the page.

Arlen Ness should buy this and turn it into the coolest motorcycle hauler of all time!
Actually a 1940 Deluxe.
Actually it’s kind of cool. Not $175,000 cool, but cool. I guess at the end of the day any of this stuff is worth what ever somebody will pay for it . How bad do you want it, and how much money do you have ?
Yup….It sure would make a cool motorcycle hauler. All it needs is an LS under the hood so it will actually be able to haul a motorcycle….lol
Are you sure that’s a ’39? I thought ’40 was the only year for the chevron tail lights.
