That’s not a photoshop job in the photo above, that’s a sample of the work done by a Utah company called Mega X2. They take big trucks and make them even bigger by stretching the frames, and adding an additional set of doors and seating to the cab. We’re not talking any hack work here. These guys are artists and engineers. After seeing a Dodge Mega Cab they made….more mega we went piling through their photos and Facebook page and came away with a huge grin on our faces because this is awesome stuff. We have seen stretched cabs before that look like clown cars but these guys do it with factory precision, using factory parts and pieces and you end up with something that looks as though Ford, Chevy, or Ram, sent it out the factory door. That’s if you want to keep the stock look. As you will see in the images below, there are plenty of people who want to go “big” and that means all the suspension, exhaust, and other work you’d expect in an off road truck but on a humongo scale.
When you think about what these guys do, it is a lot more than just cutting the cab and adding the middle part. They have to add length to the frame, brake lines, fuel lines, wiring harness, exhaust, and everything else that travels from front to back in a modern truck. We’re going out on a limb here and saying that this project is not a cheap one. That being said, it does not appear that they are at a shortage of work because their FB page is packed with trucks that have just been finished or are being built right now. We love it. Can you imagine the comfort you’d have chewing up the miles on a road trip with six people in one of these beasts? They’d likely be awesome tow rigs although at about 30-feet long you’d be a little limited on trailer length, right? Wow this is cool.
