We have seen lots of Econoline trucks over the years here on BangShift but none of them (that we can remember) stood over eight feet tall like this one! This monster 1963 Ford Econoline truck is actually an Econoline body on top of a 1970 Ford F-150 four wheel drive chassis. It has been lifted, it is rolling on large rubber, and frankly we think that it looks bad ass. The addition of the 1970 F-150 chassis means that power is not the weakling six banger that these things had. Instead it has a mild 302 which we bet moves the truck down the road nicely plus it sounds good.
The fact that the body dropped right over the short wheelbase frame is pretty awesome and the engine lives under the same doghouse in the cab that the stocker would have lived under. There’s a C4 automatic behind the engine to shift the gears and those tires are 38″ M/Ts on the corners. They look pretty damned good with the stock and unaltered wheel wells on top of them.
We don’t know how capable this thing would be off-road but we don’t think the intention was to build a trail rig but rather something that could be cruised and showed for fun. There’s no shame in that game and in the land of uniqueness, we’re pretty sure that you’ll be the only guy on the block with a lifted Econoline. That’s unless you live on a way cooler street than we do.
Anybody else get cold chill looking at that wiring?
These trucks are starting to come on strong in the market. A shame to screw this one up. Needs to trade in the Moon discs on a fire extinguisher. Could be worse I guess. He could of put it on a S-10 frame with a LS power plant.
Haha. YES I for sure got a chill!
Sad to say, I’ve seen worse electrical spaghetti. Not much worse, but worse, nonetheless.
