NTPA Mule City 300 – Our Final And Most Awesome Action Photos From The Event

(Photos by David Whealon) – We like saving the best for last here and that is what we have done with these photos from the recently run NTPA Mule City 300 truck and tractor pull in Benson, North Carolina. This event was run at the freshly minted pulling course built at GALOT Motorsports Park on the site of what was known as Dunn-Benson Drag Strip. The drag racing portion of the place is being revitalized and this pulling area is beautiful. GALOT stands for Get A Load Of This! You may see some similarities in these two photos (one above and one below) but there is one difference that cannot be missed.

The driver on the bottom photo is multi-time world champion Larry Koester as as you can clearly see, Larry is missing a substantial portion of both legs. He lost his legs in a tractor accident where a machine he was operating rolled over and pinned him. He had been a gearhead his whole life and took his passions to tractor pulling full time and he is absolutely one of the best in the business. The photo provides an inspiring visual for us and we hope for you as well.

David Whealon did a heck of a job shooting this event and we thank him for his photos. It has been fantastic sharing them.
