Rt 95 Baltimore Pileup Video: Four Minutes Of Terrifying Hell On The Road

We have seen highway crash videos on BangShift before, obviously. We have showed you videos of cars sliding down slippery streets before, obviously but you have likely never seen anything on the scale of what you are about to see below. For those of you who have not heard the story, there was a massive Rt 95 Baltimore pileup last weekend. The busy highway had been covered in glare ice and before anyone was able to get word out, trucks, trailers, cars, and whatever else got in the way was involved in the disaster. Two people lost their lives in the massive wreck and when you watch this video you will see how.

The most incredible thing you will see is a gasoline tanker which is clearly sliding out of control at a high rate of speed smash through the cement guard wall on the highway, plummet off the elevated road and explode as though it is part of an action movie. With the road engulfed in flames, other trucks desperately try to haul their rigs down but most of them end up driving through the fire. As other trucks begin to get stopped, some of the machines behind them have not gotten the memo and there are huge impacts again.

The man who filmed this video is clearly shocked by what he is seeing as any human being would be. You hear him say at the end that he is going to call “911 again”.

We’re saddened by the loss of the people in this nightmare and if anything take this as a cautionary tale about winter driving and highway conditions. You never know when the road amy come out from under you, so be extra safe out there.

He was clearly quite an amazing guy – he obviously rolled his truck off the freeway and saved a whole lot more lives… at the expense of his own. My prayer and thoughts to them. He died a hero.
