Yes, we’re back with another group of photos featuring sweet trucks from the Pomona swap meet last weekend. These photos both bring joy and pain to my little heart. The joy comes from gawking at the sweet trucks that all of these left coast guys have at the swap meet and the pain comes from ALL OF THESE SWEET TRUCKS THAT THE GUYS HAVE AT THE SWAP MEET. The “farm truck” as we all like to envision it does not exist here in New England. We have our own bastardized form of it but not the well worn machine that just shows the shabbiness of age and not the horrors of rust, neglect, or other terminal issues. Unrestored old stuff has terminal issues here after decades of being bombarded with salt and other stuff that causes corrosion and steel evaporation.
Some of these trucks were for sale and some were just sitting there more for show than anything else. Within the next couple of years, I’d like to fly out to Chad’s place. Buy a truck at Pomona and cruise it all the way back here to Massachusetts. Since we’ve dreamed up some dumb stuff and pulled it off before, mark the tape on this one kids. It will go down….promise.
