Test Your Gearhead Knowledge: Identify This Monster Cylinder Head We Spotted At PRI

We hope you have not gotten too deep into the egg nog this weekend because we’ve got a little quiz for you in the form of this monster cylinder head that we spotted at the Serdi booth at PRI 2014. If you have ever had a valve job done on a set of heads there’s an excellent chance that the machine doing the work was from Serdi. They make a whole line of stuff that is designed to help machinists turn their work out successfully, accurately, and quickly. Anyway, while cruising by their booth we spotted this big bertha sitting on one of the machines and we hunted down a Serdi guy who wanted us to guess what it was a first. After proving we had absolutely no idea, he spilled the beans and filled us in. Now it is your turn to tell us!

We’re sure someone out there in readerville works on these babies and knows exactly what’s up but maybe not. The first person to guess correctly will win a BangShift t-shirt. Tell us the make of the head and what the engine it lives on does and uses for a primary fuel. Just that easy!

Not the first to say it, but I’ll still accept a T shirt! GE Jenbacher gasoline locomotive or remote power chp etc. J920 i think it was called?

without seeing the other side i dont see an intake or exhaust runner anywhere i see what looks like a lot of water jackets and/or oil ports and the soft plugs suggest liquid cooled but cant see where fuel would come from so air compressor is my guess
