Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association State Show 2018: Old Iron On Display!

(Photos by Charles Wickam) – For nearly 50 years the Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association has been putting on their big state level show and this year our own Charles Wickam was there with his picture taking machine to document some of the fun. From the tractor displays, parades, vintage pull, and more, this was an awesome show. There was old time threshing, homemade ice cream, mechanized corn shelling, and even some big stationary engine action as well.

While we know that tractors are not “high performance” vehicles by their definition or by the definition of most automotive enthusiasts, we can safely say that tractors have been far more important than humble automobiles in the growth of our country. Without those lumbering working machines we’d not have the farms we have today and the world would still be waiting on the horse and oxen drawn plows to slowly work their way through fields in order for crops to be planted and grown.

We love this old iron and we’ll be back with more of it tomorrow. Big ups to Charles for checking out the event!
