Before we go into the details that may turn your opinion, just admire how freaking awesome this 1962 Jeep truck is. From the paint to the interior and our favorite, those white steel wheels, it is likely the nicest resto-modded 1962 Jeep truck in the world. You’ll gain even more appreciation for the thing when you see the photos that feature the underside of the rig because that is where you’ll see a ton of masterful fabrication work to incorporate all of the upgrades made to this iconically shaped rig. Now…for the details.
The truck has an LS motor and the corresponding late model electronic automatic transmission. It has a Dana 44 axle up front and a Dana 60 in the back. It has a beautiful custom interior that is probably a little more “street rod” than we would like but is certainly comfy looking and because the truck has a modern drivetrain and power, it can actually chew up the miles. In stock form this was not a truck you’d happily take any sort of road trip in because it would be limited in speed due to gearing and it was about as spartan as you could imagine inside. With a more modern shock and spring package the ride quality, while still truck-like has to be better as well. The tire would aid in that situation, too.
Now, the photos tell the story as far as the amazing quality of this build. The link we provide at the bottom of the page has dozens of photos that were taken during the construction of the truck and this thing is about as close to coach-built as a 1962 Jeep truck possibly could be. The level of quality and detail exhibited here is really in a class all of its own…and so is the price. The buy it now number is just shy of $70,000.
Hey, we know that none of this stuff is cheap. A craftsman’s labor is expensive, the metal work was expensive, the concours quality paint job was expensive, the LS motor…ok the LS motor was from a wrecked truck and was closer to free than anything else on the rig, but the axles were a few bucks, and the list goes on. We don’t know what the right price is but man, $70k sure hits us in a spot that screams TOO MUCH.
Whaddya think? We know it needs to cost something, but how much?

Technically that’s a Willys pickup, but there’s always some line-blurring between the two brands until the Kaiser buyup.
It’s been well done, though I would worry if the engine produced too much HP. A 4.8 liter LS would be perfect in this little rig. The slushbox is a small letdown, though. A classy rig like that needs some gear-rowing action to make it complete.
for 70k they coulda used a little less black electric tape……pretty on the eyes, though
Beautiful, well built rig, but $70k? I blame the TV shows. Barret Jackson, Overhauling, Fast and Loud, etc. Now everyone thinks that they’re Chip Foose or something. It’s a solid $35k truck all day. The slush box is a let down, the interior lost a bunch of charm (utilitarianism), and 70 large is a lot for any vehicle with off road pretenses.
It is a beautiful truck but at almost 70 large,
way over priced.
Great-looking rig with a few minor details that don’t sit well (Steering wheel and gauges look like complete crap) but $70,000 is a lot. $30,000 would be more realistic
tasty.
That dealership is here in Bellevue, Wa., they are mainly known as a high end European sports car dealer with even higher end prices.
Beautiful truck. It would be a lot more appealing to me with a 4.0, 5 spd and an interior I could hose out. The price? Was this a Foose build? Crazy.
Stupid Money looking for someone even stupider.
I love it and love what he’s done but as I told my wife who wants me now, after this project sat in a corner for 30 yrs, to finish a 57 Chevy wagon I started and stopped. “A Good way to turn $70k into $20k almost instantly”
For 70 grand you would have thought they would have put narrower custom axles under it with a bit more than what looks like 2-3 inches of uptravel in the suspension. The lucky new owner will probably be torching off that huge bumpstop.
Well .. I’m not going to even try to argue that the price isn’t too high . But in comparison to ICON’s offerings $70k is a downright bargain basement fire sale price .
So is it worth it ? Not to me . But I’ll tell you what assuming the owner/dealer might be looking in …
Bring this thing up to Aspen .. add another 10k to the price for your troubles .. and I’ll bet you dollars to donuts you’ll be having them beating each other over the head with ski poles for the right to hand you the check .
Seriously ! Right now here in Aspen/Vail/Telluride/ Steamboat Springs …. THE vehicle of choice amongst the extremely well heeled [ of which I am not one ] is either a restored or resto modded 4wd/4×4 . Old FJ’s IH’s , classic JEEPs , classic Land Rovers , classic Ford Broncos etc some of which aren’t even that good are going for godawful prices
[ for a little perspective my current Mercedes that just three years ago was the car to have in those places … is now passe and yesterdays news … supplanted in full by those restored/resto-mod 4×4’s]
So at the very least … advertise the thing in the Vail Daily , Aspen Times etc … you and your wallet will be damn glad you did 😉
If this sells for more than 10K my LX Mustang just jumped to a BIN of $53,000.
I can’t express in words what I think of this farce.
